Copy for display ads must be mailed or sent as a graphic file (TIF preferred, scaled to 600 D.P.I. or above). ASPects can handle artwork at up to 2400 DPI. 1200 DPI or higher is recommended if the artwork includes photographs or gray tones. 600 DPI is adequate for mostly-text ads.
If sending copy as a graphic file, and the file is under 1 Mb (Windows ZIP or Mac SFT files are OK), send it by email attachment to the editor. If the file will be larger than 1 Mb, you may place it in a temporary web location and send the address to the editor for downloading. If you need to re-send a file for any reason, you MUST change the filename.
PLEASE DON'T NAME YOUR AD ASPECTS.TIF or anything similar; we need to know YOUR company or product name to match up the ad with the payment.
Ads are reviewed for suitability only at time of submission with payment, and the editor reserves the right to reject any ad at any time. Blind ads, specifically those which do not include contact information, are generally rejected; a web address is not adequate if not accompanied by a product or company name. Ads deemed to be deceptive or unprofessional are also rejected, especially any ads that do not actually sell a product or service.
Artwork for multiple-month ads may be changed, but will not be accepted if the first ad in the series, or an alternate graphic provided at that time, is not suitable for the entire ad series. No reminders will be provided for changing ad copy in mid-series.
Checks must be payable to "Association of Shareware Professionals" and mailed to the Association office, as listed on page 2 of every issue. Contact the ASPects editor for a faxable invoice for credit card payments.
Advertising deadline for each issue is usually five weeks before the cover date.
